Hardball

Practice Sessions will run during the school term, corresponding with when there are junior fixtures, with the aim of providing practice and technical skills to improve the teams’ performance for matches. The sessions will be split to ensure that they are age group and ability appropriate and therefore there will ususally be two coaches present for these session.
Those in the U15 group are strongly encouraged to train with the senior squads. They train from 6:30pm to 8:30pm every Tuesday and Thursday evening right up until the end of August. Especially during the school holidays, our U15s and U13s are most welcome at these practice sessions (subject to availability of training facilities).

Those in this age group and especially the older ones are strongly encouraged to train with the senior squads. U11s and Kwik Cricket

Practice Sessions will run during the school term, corresponding with when there are junior fixtures.
This age group will be split into two different groups.
U8 (P3 and below) – this session is aimed at those younger players or those new to the game, with the focus being on fun while learning. We use Kwik (plastic) cricket equipment to give children a safe and fun environment to be introduced to the game.
U10 (P4/5) – aimed at those with some experience, who are looking to develop their games with some friendly matches – this age group will have the opportunity to play in festivals held at different clubs around the region, including our own.

What Age Group am I in?

In the eyes of Cricket Scotland, what age group you play in during the current summer depends on how old you were on the 31st August of the previous year.
For example (using 2011 as an example), if you were born on the 31st July 1999, you would be 11 on the 31st August 2010 and therefore in the Under 13s. If you were born on the 30th September 1999, you would be 10 on the 31st August 2010 and therefore in the U11s.
However, our policy is generally to allow players to play with their peers at school, but also permit them to play for the correct (younger) age group if there is the opportunity to do so.
