| Penicuik | 118-8 |
| Edin. Accies | 136ao |
The extended rain delay finally came to an end long enough for Edinburgh Accies to travel to Penicuik for the Cricket Scotland League East First Division. After 7 weeks without play everyone was keen to get a game. Accies lost the toss and were put into bat.
Andrew Cosh (34) and Kyle Blanchard (38) combined for a first wicket stand of 79 before Blanchard was caught off the bowling of Khalil. Unfortunately Coshy was out very soon afterwards and Accies were never really able to recover. Whilst everyone contributed some runs wickets fell regularly. Andrew Maclaren (10) was the only other play to make double figures and the innings eventaully came to an end for 136 with the first delivery of the 32nd over. Khalil and K Steel were the main threats, taking 4-20 and 3-23 respectively.
Due to rain Penicuik were set a revised target of 118 off 31 overs to win at 3.8 runs an over. Accies started with spin and started off well, removing Taylor (0) lbw in the second over before a run had been scored. A strong stand of 39 for the second wicket threatened to derail Accies before opener Foulds (19) was caught off the bowling of Moffat (8-4-15-1). Penicuik were soon in trouble as Carmichael (6-1-28-1) and Jones (6-0-19-2) struck in quick sucession. However the Penicuik skipper Steel (36) was still at the crease and the score had moved on to 81 before Steel fell for the 6th wicket. Liddle (18) was the only other batter to make double figures before he was bowled by Abdullah, but at this point the score was 112-8. Both sides could sense victory, but an unbroken stand between C Steel (9*) and Scott (1*) saw Penicuik home.
Next week Accies host RH Corstorphine in their penultimate home game of the season.
