At the meeting between Cricket scotland and the 32 SNCL clubs on Sunday, clubs voted on the proposals to alter the national league structure. Clubs voted 19-13 in favour of a 2 division, 10 team structure for 2012. A vote on a qualifying year was not successful.
This means Accies will be back in the East League for 2012. We’re not exactly sure what the division will look like as Falkland and Freuchie are members of the Perth/Strathmore Union as well as the East League so they could opt to play in either league. If they opt to play in the East League, a 10 division top flight is likely to be: Accies, RHC, Penicuik, SMRH, Falkland, Freuchie, Holy Cross, Fauldhouse, Stenhousemuir and Edinburgh.
Just to complicate matters further, the Western District Cricket Union has a meeting on the 5th November which may yet see some of the clubs in the west scheduled to play in the SNCL withdraw.
