| Edin. Accies 2nd XI | 37-0 |
| Boroughmuir 2nd XI | 33 ao |
With the fixture list throwing up a double header against Boroughmuir, the sun was high in the sky for a change as Accies welcomed ‘Muir to Newfield for the return fixture. Doc continued his unusual streak of winning the toss and much to Tom’s disgust, opted to bowl.
The disappointment didn’t last long though as Hoagy got Accies off to a flying start when Macca held a fine catch in the slips as he opened with a wicket maiden. A buoyant Accies side kept the pressure on Boroughmuir as Hoagy bowled a probing off stump line and were rewarded when James edged Hoagy to Tom behind the stumps. This was followed by Vikas holding a great catch at gully to dismiss Kenny Skidmore. He followed this up next ball with a diving one handed catch to dismiss the ‘Muir skipper to leave Boroughmuir in trouble at 20-4. Hoagy quickly secured a 5 wicket haul and Rhino got in on the action at the other end picking up 2 wickets. It was left to Hoagy to wrap the innings up with his 6th wicket as Boroughmuir were all out (8 wickets fell as they were 2 players short) for 33 in 14.2 overs.
Doc mixed the batting order up and sent Sammy and Deepak in to chase 34 for the win. They set about the Boroughmuir bowling and knocked the required runs off in 4.4 overs, Sammy finishing on 24 not out and Deepak unbeaten on 11.
A sixth win of the season, a much improved fielding performance and some great bowling from Hoagy saw Accies home comfortably. Accies head to Murrayfield next week looking to continue their good form.
