nets - update
Indoor nets will start on March 7th and run until the start of the
new season (end April) when the normal outdoor facilities will be
available (weather permitting!). Sessions are between 7-9pm and will
be at Cricket
Scotland's facilities (Mary Erskine's school). The full address

but for any questions, please contact

Antipodean update
Don McClay - congratulations to the enigmatic former Accies player
now exiled in Melbourne on the birth of his daughter, Sinead, this
week. Both mother & daughter are doing well and everyone at EACC
sends their best wishes. No doubt Don is also looking forward to his
40th birthday next month to make him feel really past it.
Once again, many thanks to all of the kind hearted individuals
who have kept us all informed as to the latest developments in the
recent cricket tournament that has apparently been going on down
under recently. I know the steady stream of match updates has surpassed
even some of the quickest news agencies, so thank you all for the
most interesting observations & comments. Now please stop it
'No Runs'. |

Winter nets
The nets have been booked to start March and will be the same venue
as last year (Cricket Scotland's facilities at Mary Erskine's School).
Sessions will start 7pm and will last for 2 hours. All players of
all standards are welcome, including new members yet to experience
the unique Accies atmosphere. Further info' and reminders will be

Season 2007 fixtures
The new fixture list has just been released and can be viewed on the
Cricket
Scotland website.
Coaching update
As part of our expansion of the juniors section of the club, we
are trying to increase our coaching staff and ensure that all those
personnel involved in coaching are appropriately qualified.
It is important that all coaches have some form of qualification,
have a criminal disclosure check performed and are members of the
ECB Coaches Association (for insurance purposes). This can all be
covered at the coaching course available.
Level 1 UKCC Cricket Coaching Qualification
The coaching course itself will take place on the following Sundays
at the Woodlands Games Hall, Falkirk between 10am and 4pm; 28th January,
4th February, 11th February. Additionally, all coaches are required
to be up to date with their first aid and child protection qualifications
For more details of the courses, visit www.cricketscotland.com
or www.coachingedinburgh.co.uk.
Can anyone who is interested in doing the course(s), please contact
Mike Thomson at
. ALL are welcome and the more the merrier.
Antipodean update
Many thanks for all of the 'informative' and supportive messages
about the Ashes series received from the various (former) Accies
players down under. The management of EACC are currently negotiating
to bring back the crème de l crème of antipodean talent
and will not stop trawling the various bars and hostelries for suitably
qualified idiots to 'star' for the mighty Accies. An update on the
latest recruitment news will be posted soon. |

Wednesday 22nd November 2006: AV 'No Runs' & Wacca Italian adventure
- Read the hilarious
report (they wish) from two of the Accies leading idiots as they
'do' Italy. The report does include an interesting insight to the
world of the 'antipodean' traveller and the social habits of both
AV & Wacca. Not for the faint-hearted or those of a nervous disposition.
Enjoy - any abuse regarding this piece, please forward to Alex or
Matt at their usual e-mail addresses. Accies
update: Mike Keen
- Posh Aussie is back in Sydney after an 8 week European tour where
he will be opening a school for the dysfunctional and sending the
brightest prospects back to Edinburgh, to represent the Accies. He
also has several photos for the website and will be sending evidence
to the Procurator Fiscals office so they can continue with their enquiries.
Richie Allison
- Good news from Richie who is off to Malaysia and getting hitched
at the end of December, to his other half Karen. An announcement is
also going into The Scotsman although he wanted it to be noted on
the Accies website as apparently this is read all over Scotland &
the rest of the civilised world (probably not Newcastle, NSW, Aus
then). Good luck to Ritchie and he has promised a huge party for the
boys when he returns in early 2007, no doubt for the start of the
cricket season. Alex' No Runs'
Valentine - He's back in Sydney and is currently looking
for Wacca's sister. Wacca has alerted the authorities, who are currently
surrounding the Kings Cross area hoping that they can shoot AV before
he does too much damage. Lets see him talk his way out of this one.
Model & Sugar -
After their brief sojourn in Europe (for pictures visit the Social
Gallery) both have returned to Newcastle and are currently underperforming
in the Newcastle 1st Grade. The only reason we know they've arrived
is that their names appear on the team sheets, although no actual
contact has been made from the superstars, probably on the basis that
it may prejudice the ongoing court cases against them. Lets hope we
hear from them soon (not!). Tony
'El Barone' Ostrowski - Seen heading to Heathrow to
catch a private jet to Australia, on a recruiting mission for the
new influx of idiots. He will also be taking in some of the Cricket
Tournament that is happening at the moment whilst he is there and
will no doubt be reporting back with various updates. He is also hoping
to catch up with various ex Accies ****wits including McClay, Saunders
& Law. Lucky him. Former Pro Update II:
Well not exactly a Pro but former Overseas Amateur, Keith
Gardner who was OA in 2002. Another former Ham Wicks
'graduate', Keith graced "Raeburn Place, The Home of Cricket"
in the 2002 Season and formed a formidable opening attack with the
Former Pro known as 'he who shall not be named'. Keith is now in Canberra
after a season in Sydney, a couple back at Ham Wicks & a year with
Kurri Kurri (which apparently is a club and not the signature dish
in Lancers). Currently staring for Tuggeranong (sounds like something
AV would do) Valley CC, although in the finest traditions of ex Accies,
he is currently 'crook mate'. Appears to be now concentrating on Martial
Arts or poss' Marital Aids (?) although the translation may have broken
down at this point. Good to hear from you Keith, keep spreading the
word of the mighty Accies.... |

Sunday 15th October 2006:
1st XI Season Review
- read the 2006 season report
in all it glory. Thanks to all the players who've represented the
1st XI this season. The final total was 28 'ish and in no particular
order:- Lester, Mark Galloway, Kiwi Matt/Waca, Dan 'silent assassin'
Pring, Alex Jefferson, Peter/Pedro 'the Aussie', Andy 'Northern' Burton,
Ralph 'star performer' Lumby, Simon T (held back by AV in 2nds), Niall
'Big Red' Sellar, Swarby (class as always), Anish the Surgeon, SuperCoshy
(104 n.o birthday knock), Richie The Cat/Camel/Sloth, Posh Aussie
Mike, Posh Dundee Mike, Chopper (all the way for one game), Keano,
Schuby the Pro/Lady Killer, Hoagy (74 yrs experience), Kelvin the
Weegie, Arshad, Alpha Male, Harry P, Talented Mr Rapley and last but
not least Sugar & The Model....
Rugby update - read
the latest literary offering from AV 'No Runs' who along with Kiwi
Matt/Waca, for some explicable reason, was playing for Keano's rugby
team, Musselburgh 3rd XV. See the match
report when they tried (& failed) to take on the mighty Accies
4th XV, featuring El Capitano is sparkling form. Also worth noting
that AV 'No Runs' has finally been caught by the Immigration Authorities
and is being repatriated back to the mother land (after his 'holiday'
to Italy). Leaving drinks on Sat ' 14th Oct; venue to be decided but
let me gues....hmmm maybe that well known Scottish Bar, the Walkabout.
Call AV for details....
Former Pro Update -
the fame of the Accies website continues to grow and the former Pro'
from the 1995 season has been in touch. Craig Symons (quick bowler,
hard hitting bat Aussie - where else would they be from?) spent the
1995 season being guided by the youthful Geoff Mawdsley who was 1st
XV captain. Since playing for the mighty Accies, Craig has had two
boys (Brodie 8 & Mason 6) and is about to produce no 3 (a girl).
Still playing cricket at 37, he has just returned to his old club
(which has changed its name from Karingal CC to Ballam Park CC), after
spending six years with Mornington CC in Victoria. Always good to
hear from former Accies, good luck for the future. |

Tuesday 26th September 2006:
2nd XI Season Review
- read the 2006 season report
in all its glory courtesy of Dave 'Stallion' Black, with no doubt
help from Alex 'No Runs' & Kiwi Wacca.
1st XI Season Review
- full report to follow soon. Congrats to Matt 'Model' Webber for
finishing as the leading wicket taker in the SNCL Second Division
with 42 wickets (and second in the averages with 11.33). Shane 'Sugar'
Hughes finishing 8th in the Total Run Averages with 791 runs (17 matches
av' 52.73). Sugar also took 24 wickets and ended up 5th on the All
Rounder list (with the Model 7th). Notable addition on the stats are
Mark 'Pro/Lady Killer' Schubert & Arshad Ahmed for the Divisions highest
9th wicket partnership (56) of the season v Dumfries. The Pro/Lady
killer was also 10th in the most Ducks list!
Spoljaric update - a
successful season in the Devon Premier League by the former Accies
Pro seeing him finish 2nd in both the
batting & bowling averages.
More repatriations -
Model & Sugar are being deported on the 27th September after causing
mayhem in Spain & France. Unsubstantiated rumours that Alex 'No Runs'
has also been caught by the authorities are yet to be confirmed. Talented
Mr Rapley and his girlfriend are currently in London awaiting the
Home office decision to send him to Canada. A full report of the season
and the exploits of the Model & Sugar will be posted soon (libel laws
permitting). |

Tuesday 26th September 2006:
Australian Accies update
- news from our Melbourne correspondent Don 'Legend' McLay on the
exploits of various Accies currently hiding from the authorities down
under.
Don McLay has been trying to explain the game of cricket to
the Chinese, in Shanghai. He has been working there a bit and looking
for star Chinese recruits who just want to drink, ogle their mothers
friends at a dodgy 40+ bar and can catch a leather ball with some
dodgy stitching work.
David 'Chopper' Law and Dylan 'Technical' Saunders
are living together (as a couple?) getting on as you would expect
with almost twenty years between them. Dylan wants a love pad and
Chopper wants to watch Liverpool 24/7 and ball tampering lectures
given by Sir Bob on Sky. Former Pro, Spoljaric, is looking forward
to moving in with them for a couple of months as they are right on
the beach and close to a VD clinic. Chopper has instructed Dylan under
no circumstances to give out their address. "If you are in Melbourne
for the ashes test, free couch with cable TV available, two ex Accies
looking for a typical Accie to doss for a couple of months, come and
go as you please, we will clean up after you. Facilities include pool,
gym and fridge."
South Melbourne are chasing an unnamed young Accie
(HP ?) who did not pay his subscriptions, and a warrant has been served.
G.Yallop is personally taking charge of the investigation. I think
its fair to say that in a couple of generations perhaps this Accie
may be allowed back.
Rick "the all star love dog" Kirkwood has settled
down and practically married.
The Ashes are only 60+ days away and Don McLay will be at the first
test and will provide a daily blog to the Accies. He is looking forward
to sharing a pint with the Baron, who better turn up as Don has invested
considerable funds in a number of 5 day tickets for the Baron Party.
The after game activities will be limited as he is pushing 40 and
likes nothing better than listening to Radio 4 on the internet before
turning in at 8.30pm. He has been heckling the TMS commentators via
email, especially G Boycott when has been getting a little full of
himself. |

Gillon.
2nd XI team dinner
Taking place on Friday 8th September at the Filling Station on Rose
Street, from 7.30 PM. Contact Alex 'No Runs' Valentine or your usual
2nd XI contact for further details. Apparently all players are welcome
including partners (not wise).
Antipodean repatriation
Mike 'Posh Boy' Keen has been rumbled by the immigration authorities
and will be leaving these shores as soon as the convict ship &
manacles have been sourced. His leaving drinks will be on Saturday
night (September 2nd) at a bar called 99 Hanover Street. The address
may be tricky for some 1st (& 2nd XI) members but all are welcome
to come and poke fun…sorry wish Mike a fond farewell. Drinks
will no doubt start from when the 1st XI finishes on Sat'. Also
a chance to see Model & Sugar in their natural environment before
they wreak havoc with the ladies in various European resorts. |

Wednesday 23rd August'06:
Read the latest literary extravaganza from the 1st & 2nd XI games.
Match reports also include the 'hilarious' player
ratings courtesy of Matt 'Wacca/Waqar/Kiwi' Gillon. 1st
XI vs SMRH - back to winning ways with the help of Sugar & the
Model. 2nd XI vs Kismet
- losing controversially in a keenly fought top of the table clash. |

Tuesday 24th July'06:
Read the latest 1st & 2nd XI match reports vs St
Modans (1st XI) and vs Glenrothes
(2nd XI). Both excellent wins. 1st XI report includes the renaming
of the St Modans match as 'SupeCoshy Day' in recognition of his fine
104 not out. The 2nd XI report includes lots of 'antipodean drivel'
with individual in depth (?) player analysis. |

Saturday 22nd July'06:
Here's the latest 1st XI match reports; vs Perthshire
& vs St
Boswells and 2nd XI match reports; vs Stewarts
& vs Heriots.
Australia news: Chopper,
after his brief flirtation with the SNCL, is back in Oz and will
be lecturering the poor unsuspecting students of Melbourne's finest
remand centre/education establishment about the fascinating subject
of concrete. Rumour has it that he'll be 'rooming' with another
former Edinburgh Accie stalwart, Dylan
'Technical' Saunders. Expect long discussion into
the night about the standard of umpires and the fact that 'Technical'
was the greatest player ever to not have scored above 30 for the
Accies in 3 years. Don 'Legend' McLay
has been in touch and has the frightening news that he's to be a
father. Many congratulations to the McLay family and we wish them
all the best for the forthcoming event. The temperament of the little
mite will be interesting being half Aussie/half Scottish, but lets
not dwell. Congrats again. Nick Lyell
has confirmed that he's in negotiations with Avon for a new lipstick
contract and will also be back at Raeburn Place, wreaking havoc
with the opposition, early August. Jock
Hough (Aussie [aren't they all!] & 2nd XI stalwart)
was responsible for introducing Mike
'Posh Boy' Keen to the mighty Accies as he thought
that Mike would enjoy himself at RP. Luckily for Jock, he's back
in Oz and is apparently 'unavailable' for games for a 'while'. He
did want to remain on the distribution list for the hilarious match
reports and to catch up on the general p*ss taking of Mike.
2nd XI Match report v Kirk Brae (who won toss
& batted):
KB 177 all out. Simon Thomson 2-34, Abdul Khader 2 for 40 (2 off
2 ball), Marcus Stewart 8-5-12-0 (superb), Ken Thomson 9-1 -29-3.
Excellent bowling & fielding performance that reduced the run
rate from over 5 an over at 18 overs to under 4 an over at the end.
Once again great team effort and support.
EACC 178 for 9 with Arsad 63, Will Lutton 21, Wayne Coggan 20 and
last 11 winning runs being struck by the twae tommos-unlikely Anzac
partnership of Ken and Simon. Accies
won by 1 wicket. Kirkbrae previously unbeaten and
top of the league (we lost earlier game by 1 run off last ball of
game). |

Saturday 8th July'06:
Please find attached copies of the last three 1st XI match reports
v Freuchie,
Falkland
& Corstophine
(including details of the Poker tournament) and the 2nd
X1 v Falkland match report from 24/6/06. Also worth a read is
the article about the mighty EACC in the Scotland
on Sunday last week. In addition dozens of photos have been sent
in and added to the Photo Gallery so please
take a look. Extract from the Secret diary of Nick
Lyell (mentally aged 14 & 3/4's): "I have 3
aims for my trip; (1) Find & touch a snake. (2) See a shark bigger
than me. (3) Vomit in Queensland (I've already done NSW, ACT and VIC).
God Speed" There are also a couple of photos
of Nick on a recent skiing trip in Oz. Both with impressive lipstick.
I've been reliably informed that Nick is on his way back to Edinburgh
on 30th July. All bars have been put on special alert and will be
fully stocked with Alco-pops for his return. |

Friday 23rd June'06:
Read the latest reports of two spectacular wins for the 1st XI v Stoneywood
Dyce (10th June) & SMRH
(17th June). Reports, with the usual drivel, courtesy El Captaino
and a guest report by Kelvin 'The Weegie' Bunten.
2nd XI Update
Saturday 10 June - Lost to Kismet by 7 wickets. After a long delay
crossing the Forth Road Bridge for a first ever visit to Kismet,
a sight seeing tour of Eastern Fife was the prelude to the afternoon’s
activities and as a consequence the start was somewhat delayed.
Batting first, Accies were quickly 37 for 7 after 15 overs and never
really recovered. Opener Marcus Stewart struck 19 and Dan Pring
top scored with 25 not out, entertainingly assisted by Wayne Coggan’s
20 not out, right at the end. However, 100 all out was never going
to be defendable. Kismet knocked off the required total in 25 overs,
leaving Accies with just 4 points to take home.
Saturday 14 June – Beat Dalgety Bay by 103 runs. Determined
not to be late again, the team set off promptly from RP. Encountering
no problems on the bridge this week, Accies arrived at Dalgety Bay
more than an hour before the scheduled start and embarked upon some
unaccustomed fielding practice to pass the time. Having won the
toss, Accies elected to bat first and a slow but solid start saw
57 reached at the fall of the second wicket in the 23rd over. From
this platform a total of 166 all out was reached in the 44th over.
Virtually everyone got into double figures, with Alex Valentine
hitting 27, including a couple of towering sixes before being caught
going for his third, and Dave Black with 25. Some genuine fast bowling
from Accies opening bowlers (some of which was downright hostile
on the hosts’ plastic pitch) reduced Dalgety Bay to 37 for
5 after 11 overs. Jason Dawes with 4 for 24 terrorised their top
order and Abdul Khader and wily Ken Thomson both chipped in with
a couple of wickets each. Despatching the opposition for 63 in the
22nd over ensured a maximum 20 points and an early return to RP
in time to witness the 1st XI securing a hat-trick of wins.
Spoljaric Update - Immediate past president 'Baron'
Ostrowski was on a driving holiday in Devon weekend of 10 June and
due to a ghastly map-reading error fetched up in Budleigh Salterton.
It transpired that this is where Spolly plied his trade, and on
a glorious summer’s day he was witnessed racing effortlessly
to 84 before being caught behind off his shoulder. A splendid cream
tea was enjoyed by all, and when he returned to action it was to
take 4 wickets for not many in an impressive all round performance.
B. Salterton are 'delighted' with his performances as, reportedly,
are the "ladies" of Exeter, whose night clubs are a popular
haunt for our former colleague. Now known as Spolls, he is enjoying
life and cricket and (which must seem alien to him after 7 years
in Scotland) playing on hard pitches in warm weather.
Other news - Chopper, after a brief visit, is
in Germany berating referees, Harry Paton is back (well we think
its Harry but this version is fatter) and sleeping until 5 PM unless
there's cricket involved. More new players have been spotted at
RP 'Home of Cricket' and no doubt the warmer weather will tempt
some of the Accies stalwarts to make themselves available. A possible
3rd XI could be on the cards if numbers continue. We will keep everyone
informed. The News of The World has vicious rumour of the possibility
of a daring transfer bid by EACC to an unnamed Goldenacre Premiership
side for a lager fuelled off spinner/middle order bat. These rumours
are completely unsubstantiated…... |

Tuesday 6th June'06:
Both the 1st & 2nd XI's won last weekend. A top notch 138 from
Shane 'Sugar' Hughes to help defeat Weirs but an equally classy knock
of 74 from 'young' Geoff Mawdsley inspiring the 2nds to a win over
Leith Franklin/Edinburgh Beige(?). To read the latest 1st XI match
reports, including the return of Weegie Kelvin, Monsieur Alpha Male
Moffat and the infamous Chopper Law see the following links; Dumfries,
Edinburgh
CC and Weirs. |

Extract from the Secret Diary of Nick Lyall (mentally aged
14 & 3/4's): "I'm still alive, just, only just.
I'm not to sure if Harry's alive, he was supposed to come to Brisbane
with me but just never arrived, he said something about...going to
Tasmania. I'm not sure when he is getting back to Scotland, as I've
not seen him since January" (Nick then says something derogatory
about Harry).
"Playing rugby for the most brutal club I've ever seen,
the coach makes Barney look like a...nice chap (edit). We are one
red card away from being kicked from the league, its soo cool. I'm
one of six white guys in the team, the rest are from Tonga or Samoa."
"I coached a very successful under 12 cricket team, we won
a game, came second in the other four. Now coaching under 14's rugby.
I'm going to get.. erm have a celebratory beer but just the one (edit)."
I'm sure we wish Nick all the best in his continued quest to educate
the U14 rugby team! |

Professional & Overseas Amateur at EACC 2006 :
Introducing the two new Aussies who will be our 'Professional &
Overseas Amateur at EACC 2006'. Comments courtesy of Herbie (ex Pro
from 1997 season) who is from the same club in Newcastle (2 hrs north
of Sydney), Hamilton Wickhams. "Shane 'Sugar' Hughes - very
much in the David Gower mould with ample time to play the fast bowlers.
Shane's a handy medium pace bowler and is every bit as good as Spolly
with the bat and I'll be surprised if he doesn't improve as the season
progresses once he gets acclimatised to the conditions. (i.e. he learns
how to drink like a fish and eat at San Marco's).
Matt 'The model' Webber - recently been named the Newcastle Player
of the Year. He's all-round game is very solid and he'll be an excellent
No.4 bat and 1st change bowler at Accies. All the wives and girlfriends
are very fond of Matt at our Club so it's probably best to keep the
girls away from Raeburn Place for the summer. If he's not performing
on the cricket field, send him to couple of model agencies for some
part-time work and he'll be sure to provide the club with solid returns.
Both the guys are excellent company and they'll fit into the team
without any worries. We wish them well for the 2006 season". |

Wednesday 29th March 2006 : News Update ! Indoor
nets - pre-season nets have started and will take
place at Scottish Cricket Union's National Cricket Academy in Ravelston.
Nets take place on Monday evenings between 8-10pm and are scheduled
for the 3rd, 10th & 17th April. Outdoor nets at Raeburn Place
should begin Tuesday 18th April (subject to the fine Scottish weather)
and will run every Tuesday and Thursday night (from 6.30pm) thereafter
until the rest of the season (again weather permitting). For those
interested in attending please contact
.
Professional & Overseas Amateur
- EACC are currently negotiating with the crème de la crème
of the antipodean world who may be fortunate enough to be chosen
as the new Pro & Overseas AM at the Accies. There has been no
shortage of 'quality' applicants (as you can imagine) and the new
signings will hopefully be announced in the very near future. Steven
Spoljaric, the Pro for the past six years, has decided to try his
luck south of the border…….
Spoljaric update -
Spolly continued his fine season with South Melbourne and was selected
to represent a 'Premier XI' side to play vs a State Squad XI. Averaging
43+, with three centuries and claiming 28 wickets, it was another
good season for Spolly. As mentioned he has decided to try his luck
south of the border and will be playing for Budleigh Salterton in
the Devon Cricket League - Premier Division. Apparently its Peter
Roebucks (ex Somerset CC Captain) club and Spolly has informed me
he'll be living with him. We wish them both luck…….
Spolly was spotted in Edinburgh at a recent Indoor Net session and
an unnamed Accies member commented that it was an 'unexpected pleasure
to see him again'.
Nick Lyall - extract
from 'The Secret Diary of Nick Lyall'. Some restrictions on the
wording have been imposed due to the content of the report and the
recent UN Sanctions. He spent a week with Spolly & Harry end
of Jan' - unfortunately the libel laws prevent us elaborating this
part. He's now somewhere in Sydney pretending to be a teacher for
a few months. The thought of Nick 'educating' unsuspecting young
Australians brings a tear to my eye.
'Chopper' watch -
apparently he's been to Buenos Aries (no doubt berating the locals
about the 'Hand of God' goal, Beckhams sending off and the loss
on penalties in the WC) Rio de Janeiro and is now somewhere near
Panama. See his Web
Blog which is surprisingly good. Due back in the UK at the end
of April and will allegedly be making his way to Edinburgh to continue
his friendship with most of the Scottish Umpiring community.
Stuart 'Alpha Male' Moffat
- it has been politely pointed out that the 'Alpha male' has one
cap for Scotland (cricket & five for rugby apparently). He was
upset that it wasn't mentioned on the website. Happy to put the
record straight and to also mention his charity work with underprivileged
children, his time in the Peace Corps and the time when he single
handed saved the universe from total destruction. Au revoir mon
ami?….
Andrew 'Lager' Moffat
- we are including Andrew in the latest news to ensure that he knows
that everyone at EACC still loves him and he shouldn't consider
moving to Budleigh Salterton this year…….
New Players - thanks
for all of the recent enquiries from the various players. As stated,
all standards welcome at EACC. All enquires should have received
a rambling response so if you haven't, please get in touch again.
With a new clubhouse planned, the prospects of a shiny new Pro &
Amateur, quality coaching & nets and free beer all season (OK
this may be a lie), there's never been a better time to join the
home of cricket in Edinburgh. Please contact
. |

Friday 13th January 2006 : Accie News. Nick
Lyell - just to prove that it not just the UK that
receives its fair share of 'intelligent cricketers' from down under,
Edinburgh Accies seems to be trying to reverse the trend and ship
some our finest 'brains' in the opposite direction. Nick has left
for a brief sojourn and will be meeting up with Harry & Spolly
in Melbourne for a short period, before then playing some 'quality
cricket' in Sydney. Expect a carefully crafted insight into the world
of a 'fresh faced Accie' when the first instalment of "The secret
diary of Nick Lyell - (mentally) aged 13 & 3/4's" appears.
This is assuming he actually writes anything coherent. Good luck in
Oz Nick and remember to dazzle them with your sparkling wit &
repartee (look it up in the dictionary). David
'Chopper' Law - in the words reminiscent of Elvis
"David Law has left the building (well the country)". The

Saunders - Two fantastic seasons (2002 & 2003)
at the home of cricket for this 'talented' all round cricketer. His
League batting statistics speak for themselves. Played 28 matches,
161 runs (total), highest score 29, Average 6.44. Oh and he took one
