Juniors
Welcome to the Edinburgh Academical Cricket Club (EACC) junior's section. Despite our name and our close links with the Edinburgh Academy, "The Accies" is an open club and we welcome players (girls and boys) from any school who wants to play for us.
We are a member of the Lothian Junior Cricket Development Group and we have sides in the U15 and U13 leagues. We also play in Kwik Cricket (U10) Festivals in the Lothian area during the summer and we will host our own on Sunday 26th June 2011. We are also hoping to introduce an U11 side this year, playing hardball cricket against other local clubs. Refer to fixtures and results for more details.
To complement these matches, we offer training sessions for senior school children on Tuesdays and Thursday afternoons and on Sunday mornings for primary school children. Please refer to training section for more details.
We also run a summer camp, open to non-members as well, which this year will be run during the first full week of July.
We work closely with Cricket Scotland (www.cricketscotland.com) and we are part of its TopClub scheme, which aims to raise the standard of Junior Cricket in Scotland, as well as ensuring that we are health and compliant and that we maintain excellent standards of child protection. Please refer to the policies section for more details.
Please have a look around our site for more details of the club. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact the junior convenor, Michael Thomson on eaccjuniorconvenor@gmail.com.
We look forward to seeing you at the club very soon.

Dan Rixon signs as Overseas Pro
Edinburgh Accies are pleased to announce that we have secured the services of Daniel Rixon as pro for the 2011 season. Dan Rixon (25, son of former New South Wales, Surrey and New Zealand coach Steve Rixon) is a keeper batsman who plays in the Sydney Grade Competition for Sutherland. Dan has previously represented New South Wales at Under-17 and 19 levels and is involved with the New South Wales Institute of Sport.
In his previous visit to the UK in 2008, Dan played for Surrey County League side Merrow. He dominated league, topping the run-charts hitting 881 runs at 62.93 including three hundreds. Dan is also an experienced coach and holder of a Cricket Australia level 2 badge. We are sure his talent and experience will rub off on both senior and junior members of the club.
